Decipher My Data: Flu! is proud to be funded through a People Award from the Wellcome Trust, the UK’s largest charity. Wellcome are dedicated to achieving extraordinary improvements in human and animal health. They support the brightest minds in biomedical research and the medical humanities. Wellcome’s public engagement grants are intended to promote interest, excitement and debate around science and society. They also encourage interdisciplinary practice and collaborations.

Partner: Health Protection Agency


The HPA is an independent organisation that protects UK public health. It provides information and advice to the general public, doctor and nurses and local and national government to protect against threats from infectious diseases and environmental hazards. It is providing us with national data to use in Decipher My Data: Flu!

Partner: Royal College of General Practitioners 


The RCGP is the UK’s professional body for GPs. It supports doctors in general practice and improvements in patient care, and represents the views of GPs in government. The RCGP also improves the education and training of GPs. The RCGP is also providing us with national data to use in Decipher My Data: Flu!

Partner: Flu Watch


Flu Watch is a research project that followed up a cohort of households in England in order to understand the behavioural and biological factors leading to the transmission of influenza in the community. It is providing us with data to use in Decipher My Data: Flu! and the knowledge and experience of carrying out research in this area.
